Understand how you share your information on your LinkedIn Profile

Most of the people want to showcase their profile neat. Some of their updates may break that point, we have to take care of our privacy settings so that others will not see our updates while preparing your profile. The most annoying part of this is there is no remove option for the activity in LinkedIn profile. So, we have to remember this while editing.

Few tips for all of you who need this data privacy.

LinkedIn is providing most of the these settings in its Privacy Settings pane.

• Turn on/off your activity broadcasts: If you don’t want your connections to see when you make changes to your profile, follow companies, or recommend connections, un-check this option. You can turn it back again when you need to expose yourself to your connections. By default this option will be checked.
• Select who can see your activity feed: Your activity feed displays actions you've performed on LinkedIn. If you want to restrict this activity feed you can use this option. The available options are:
  Everyone
  Your Network
  Your Connections
  Only You
• Select what others see when you've viewed their profile: When you view other profiles on LinkedIn, those people can see your name, photo, and headline. If you want a higher level of privacy, you can choose to display anonymous profile information, or show up as an anonymous LinkedIn member.
• Select who can see your connections: Select this option to restrict others to see your connections. Note: People will always be able to see shared connections. The available options are:
  Your Connections
  Only You
• Show/hide "Viewers of this profile also viewed" box: Display "Viewers of this profile also viewed" box on the Profile page. Once you check this option you will be able to see the auto suggestions of the similar profiles provided by LinkedIn. By default this option will be checked.
• Edit your public profile: This will give you a control of how you appear in public search results. You can check or un-check few or all the fields. Depending on your custom configuration your profile will be seen by others.
• Manage your recommendations: You can manage the recommendations, endorses etc.. You will be able to  request for new endorsements.
